What is Rubberized Curled Fiber?

This product is a blend of coconut fiber, formerly hog's hair, and bound fiber. The bound fiber is a vegetable composition, which we purchase in rope form and untwist through a mechanical process of picking and separating. It is then ready to accept the latex, which we spray on it as a binder.

After the fiber has been picked, sprayed and blended with animal hair, it is passed on to the packers. Here it is manually placed into molds that have been designed to the configurations of the customer's product. When the mold is completely stuffed, it is placed in a convection oven at 300° until it is dry. This heating process cures the "Hairpack" and sets it into the form of the mold into which it was stuffed. The "Hairpack" is then removed from the mold, trimmed, weighed, tagged and inspected.

As you can see, carefully supervised production of our package is exercised at all times and meeting your specifications is of primary importance to us. Because of these stringent controls, you can be confident that Rubberized Hair will protect your product against damage in storage and shipping.

Rubberized Hair is one of the oldest forms of packaging materials used in modern industry. It has been and continues to be, one of the most economical and practical methods of shipping whether by parcel post, motor, rail or air.

When ordering, keep in mind that it is necessary that we have complete information about your requirements. Factors such as the weight of the product, the "G" factor, and type of protection desired, must be known. Distinguish if this is a delicate item, which requires special packaging, or if it is a product that withstands rough handling. With this information, we are ready to go to work and create another satisfied customer.

On this page, you can see charts showing compressive stress-strain relationship and dynamic cushioning performance of rubberized curled hair. Please give these charts your close attention.
